Important BLM Lands Planning Meeting
and
Public Forum
Saturday, May 3, 2008 1:00 – 4:30 pm
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is in the process of collecting public comments on its Resource Management Plan revision for the Rio Puerco region, which includes BLM lands surrounding Placitas. This document will govern the use of the BLM lands for the next 15 – 20 years. Whether the land is opened up for gravel mining, housing or commercial development, an energy corridor, a northeast connecting road, or remains as public open space for recreation and wildlife / wild horse habitat is all open for debate. Take this opportunity to become educated on the issues and BLM process, engage in open discussions with BLM staff and elected officials, and above all register your input to the process.
The event will be held at the Las Placitas Presbyterian Church, 7 Paseo de San Antonio (corner of NM 165 and Paseo de San Antonio) in Placitas, NM. Refreshments provided courtesy of Las Placitas Association.
See you on May 3rd!
