Membership and community are key to the LPA pursuing and achieving its goals. We have placed new emphasis on increasing the awareness and visibility of the LPA within the Placitas community. The logical place to start with this goal is communicating with our current members..
Many people take part in LPA's diverse mix of educational workshops and outdoor activities throughout the year.
A newsletter detailing the all our events is distributed in March using the Sandoval Signpost's mailing list.
Typical Events Include :
- April - Migratory & Nesting Birds of the Placitas Open Space
- May - Placitas Open Space Plant Hike
- September - Diamond Tail Ranch Hikes
- Oct. - Star Party
- Spring and Fall - Trail building and maintenance in the Placitas Open Space
- All year - lectures on local interests and hikes to local areas
