There will be a community meeting 25 June Wed 6-8pm at the Senior/Community Center. Bruce Rizzieri, the transit manager for the MRTD (Mid Region Transit District) will describe the mission of his dept; available resources; and most importantly, outline the 10 year Rio-Metro Transit Plan which includes Placitas. This transit plan will be on the ballot for the November election where the level of designated gross receipts tax will be chosen (from a sixteenth to a half a cent).
Following Bruce's presentation, Steff Chanat will present a summary of needs, concerns, and ideas that she has collected from community members. She'll stress the key issue of "what do we do in the interim, while we wait for the actuation of the funds, if approved, in Fall of 09?" Then move to public discussion, closing out on "next steps".
