A restored creek flow and sustained viability of Las Huertas Creek watershed
will benefit all residents of Placitas, human and non-human alike.
The purpose of Las Huertas Creek Watershed Project, is to organize, coordinate, and facilitate community efforts toward the protection, restoration, and management of the Las Huertas Creek watershed. Working cooperatively with all stakeholders, including private property owners, Pueblos, acequia systems, as well as city, county, and state governments and Federal land management agencies, Las Placitas Association aims to ensure the health and sustainability of the watershed that has served as a lifeline for generations of Placitas residents.
